Rhino Grade – Super-Thick Cut Parts

While EAS typically cuts rubber parts using conventional press cutting equipment – we also specialise in making parts in the extremes of rubber materials. Often this can mean specialised materials, manufactured to particular grades – but regularly we produce parts in ultra-thin materials – such as medical grade silicones – or ultra-thick materials for industries such as quarrying and mining.

We qualify this range of products as our ‘Rhino Range’ – materials that are tough enough for the hardest wearing applications.

We are able to cut bridge bearing materials, including laminates of steel, along with thermal break materials such as glass loaded polyamides.

Up to 250mm thick

While we can cut from just 0.2mm thick – did you know we can convert up to 250mm ?

Not only can we convert rubber, but our equipment can cut metals, stone, plastics, fabric – in fact almost anything !

To 50mm High Speed !

We regularly cut rubber in 50mm thickness by blade – something most machines are incapable of doing. Milling equipment may also be used with even thicker materials via abrasive water jet cutting.

Fabrication Work

While cutting and machining materials into shapes, we are also required to fabricate components.

This could be by simple lamination and bonding, or incorporating other materials such as anchor bolts into sub-sea pipe protection systems.

While heavy duty belting type materials are often rough-sawn, we can cut accurately – even within 0.5mm over 50mm thickness – to ensure products that mate together fit properly, and there is no re-work required on-site to get them fitted!

In the same way, we can design heavy duty seals to be handled easily, and to fit precisely as they are bought together in multiple parts, and have produce seals up to 10mts diameter and weighing over 1000kgs in this way.

A Major part of our ‘Rhino Range’ heavy duty cutting is for our sister company, Horsemat – who have developed materials especially for animals in captivity. Heavy duty bespoke matting systems up to 50mm (and possibly 100mm) – are designed and cut to be easily manageable and simple to fit. Machining drainage channels, incorporating integral pipework and wiring, and producing multi-layered systems for all sorts of applications enhance our offering ever further.

To give something back has always been one of mottos. Together, Horsemat and EAS decided to use a conservation group that highlights the issues Humans are doing to this planet. Black Rhino’s are on the endangered list, and together we decided to learn as much as possible about these animals and to try and spread awareness of their plight, and in so doing, hopefully make more people aware of similar issues around the World.

Being lucky enough to already deal with several Zoos, we are hoping that by using the ‘Rhino Grade’ materials, we can ask each customer to make a small donation (in the way of a discount perhaps!) and for you to also spread the word !
