With the Covid Lockdown in the UK, deciding which new machine to purchase next has not been easy!

Using videos and brief visits where allowed, we’ve finally decided on our next new CNC machine. With automatic tool-change amongst a variety of features, this machine will allow us to cut and machine parts as a continual process without any manual tool-changes.

Already having continual belt machines capable of cutting up to 200mts in length, we also required a sturdy fixed bed machine to handle our heaviest materials.

2.2mt x 5.1mt cutting bed

We required a heavy-duty cutting machine to handle the increasing variety of materials we now convert at EAS.

The ability to cut anything from 0.25mm elastic rubber, or to machine 100mm thick aluminium plate meant that we needed a machine with serious capability !

From the top 6 machines selected, eventually 1 scored top marks being able to cut all the various materials we needed to test – but more importantly – being the most robustly built machine where we will have no issues of laying 1000kg sheets on the bed to cut.
