0.15mm to 1.5mm thick – 1mt wide – other thicknesses on request
Especially known as an inexpensive oil and fuel resistant gasket paper that’s used in all sorts of applications. Generally used where mating flanges are flat and good overall face compression can be achieved.
Description
Flexoid is a plasticised gelatine impregnated material, cellulose based. As an inexpensive paper form material, the material is used extensively in the gasket business.
You will see the same material with different brands at much higher prices – the giveaway is normally the ‘oid’ ending to their brands!
Usage
Basically, the material has excellent oil and fuel resistance – however it is not suitable for alkalis, acids and steam. Also, gaskets must be protected from wide changes of humidity and temperature to prevent dimensional changes. Since the maximum working temp of the material is 120°C, we would suggest calling if you have higher temperature requirements. While being used widely in the automotive industry, it can also be found in electrical appliances, processing equipment, pumps, valves and almost anywhere that two level flanges require dry or wet sealing.

While prices are per Square Metre (1000mm x 1000mm) – multiples ordered will be supplied in roll form 1mt wide to maximum sizes shown below.
However, we can also cut this material for you into all types of shapes using our high speed presses, laser or even water-jet – often in multiple thickness! Ask us for prices on your finished parts – you may be pleasantly surprised !
Material 1000mm wide – max rolls 0.15mm – 0.25mm 200mts, 0.4mm – 0.8mm 100mts, 1mm – 1.6mm 50mts
Generally this material is supplied rolled and protected in rigid cardboard boxes. But in addition for smaller orders, may be supplied folded to meet parcel dimensions and reduce carriage. When it arrives, simply unfold and flatten before cutting out your parts !
