Edge Bonded Gaskets

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer a complete service for edge moulded gaskets!

Designed especially for higher pressure applications, a solid metal outer carrier supports the moulded rubber seal component.

All types of polymers can be used to suit various applications and working conditions and parts are tested to ASTM 429 to ensure gasket strength and bond.

What’s the Benefit ?

Designed to seal flat components, edge bonded gaskets comprise an elastomeric sealing bead that is bonded to the thin edge of a metal carrier frame.
They are typically used to seal flat faced components when a groove or recess is missing for a press-in-place gasket.
There is no possibility of external contamination to the rubber seal, while the external carrier also eliminates the need for compression stops.
As a rigid gasket, positioning and assembly of the gasket is mach faster.
Using protruding tabs, identification of the gasket is quick and easy
These gaskets can be produced up to 1.2mts across
Typical usage includes: Oil Pans, Transmission Pans, Intake Manifolds, AMT units, PTO and oil/water heat exchangers. These gaskets are now also being used in appliances for sealing electric motors, gearboxes etc.
Metal components can be in Aluminium, Steel or coated steel, with elastomeric seals available in ACM, AEM (Vamac), EPDM, FKM and HNBR
