CAMPROFILE GASKETS
Description
These gaskets are produced from solid metals, with an area of concentric V shaped grooves on each side of the flat ring. Around these grooves, a sealing material – normally Graphite or PTFE, is bonded using a preparatory adhesive tape.
Because there are used under compression the mating flanges are clamped tightly onto the gasket. As a result the grooved sealing areas squeeze the sealing material into the V channels to form a high compression seal.
Product Description
While clamped solidly between two steel flanges, Camprofile gaskets present exceptional flexibility and recovery. They also demonstrate high seal performance under pressure and temperature fluctuations, flange rotation, creep and bolt stress relaxation.
Overtightening can be an issue however. Consequently these gaskets should always be used inside recommended working conditions as damage can occur to flanges with incorrect use.
Furthermore, being similar to Spirals, these gaskets can be made from different metals to match working conditions.
Usage
Typically used in high pressure pipeline applications, shell and tube exchangers in the petrochemical industries.
